A prescribed burn was facilitated today at the RPU Service Center as part of RPU’s efforts to maintain proper land management of natural/prairie grasses. Controlled burns have a number of important aspects; they reduce the buildup of fuel materials which decreases the likelihood of a serious uncontrolled burn, and also controlled burning stimulates the germination of new growth while inhibiting weed growth. The burn was managed and lead by professionals. Do not try to facilitate without the help of a trained professional.
